Some basics greetings in German:
1. Hallo = Hello
2. Wie geht’s? = How are you?
This meant for casual greetings which usually used for friends who haven’t meet each other for a long time.3. Guten Morgen = Good morning
This is both casual and formal.4. Guten Tag! = Good day/good afternoon
Until 10 am
This is usually used formally.5. Guten Abend = Good evening
10 am to 5/6 pm
After 5 pm6. Gute Nacht = Good night
7. Frau = Miss/Mrs./Madame
8. Herr = Mr
9. Ich bin… = I am…
10. Wie ist Ihr Name? / Wie heißen sie? = What’s your name?

Notes:
When Germans meet, their greetings can appear quite formal. Even if they see each other every day at work they will usually shake hands. If you enter a room full of people, a general greeting to all of them is usually sufficient, although you will probably shake hands with some of them at least. Strictly speaking, the older person should hold out their hand first.
Close acquaintances and friends however frequently greet each other in Southern European style not with a handshake but with a kiss on the left cheek and a kiss on the right.
